Irish-based European payments network Payzone Group has sold its Cardpoint Services ATM businesses in the UK and Germany to Cardtronics for €125 million.
Cardpoint Services trades as independent ATM services provider Cashzone in the United Kingdom, and as Cardpoint in Germany.
The non-ATM operations of Payzone Ireland, UK, Sweden, Romania and Greece are not affected by the transaction.
Mike Maloney, CEO, Payzone Group, said: “Having developed the business to this point, we are pleased to be selling to such an accomplished ATM operator as Cardtronics… We will now continue to focus on growing the payments side of Payzone Group’s business where we have invested significantly in technology infrastructure to facilitate growth of payments in newer categories such as pre-paid utility and public sector payments.”
