Nostra locks Prontaprint’s doors

New online security solution secures network and critical data

Prontaprint Walkinstown has invested in a new online security solution from Nostra Systems to defeat intrusion attempts. The security decision follows a recent PricewaterhouseCoopers study showing that 46% of small companies have suffered a computer security breach. Of those, 61% were the victims of hackers.

Nostra Systems service manager Senan Finucane said PC break-ins were often the result of unsecured small business networks being connected to the Internet 24×7. “While SMEs demand the same IT facilities as a larger businesses, sometimes the corresponding security is not installed as standard,” said Finucane. “Just because a client is an SME doesn’t mean it has to scrimp on IT solutions. Our role is to deliver enterprise class solutions at an affordable price.”

Finucane said Nostra was tasked with securing the Prontaprint office’s critical data and network from external threats and to migrate all data and applications from its legacy system to its new HP system. Nostra used a Cisco Pix 500 series firewall.

The centre in Walkinstown, which in 2006 won Franchisee of the Year title, is one of 175 Prontaprint franchises across the UK and Ireland. It offers creative design, printing and copying for businesses, with logistical and creative support.
