3Com has teamed up with SurfControl to add advanced Internet filtering capabilities to its OfficeConnect Routers and VPN Firewall. 3Com customers will now have an additional means to filter malicious or inappropriate Web content that could create a liability for organisations.
The company’s OfficeConnect routers give secure Internet sharing to small offices and home offices. In addition to being highly reliable, the wired and wireless broadband routers provide firewall protection, a 10/100 Ethernet switch, a cable or DSL modem connection or an integrated ADSL modem.
Included in the Office Connect range is the OfficeConnect Cable/DSL Router which offers Internet sharing for up to 253 users. Also included is the OfficeConnect Wireless 11g Cable/DSL Router that gives 54 Mbp/sec high-speed shared Internet access and supports up to 128 wireless, 253 total users, and the OfficeConnect ADSL Wireless 11g Firewall Router combines an ADSL modem, router, 802.11g wireless access point, four-port switch and firewall.
