Microsoft Ireland has won the Outstanding Achievement in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award at the 2011 Chambers Ireland CSR Awards, held in Dublin last night. The judging panel selected Microsoft Ireland for the sustained excellence of their CSR programmes.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Paul Rellis, managing director, Microsoft Ireland (pictured) said: “Microsoft’s overall CSR vision is to help people realise their potential through the power of technology. In our efforts to deliver on this goal we have introduced a number of programmes enabling customers, partners and NGOs realise the potential of new technologies through training; mentoring; volunteering and by making both the software and the technology available to them. In the current economic climate it’s more important than ever for people to share and volunteer their expertise and these awards definitely highlight how well this is done by so many companies in Ireland. We are delighted to be chosen to be winners of this years top prize at the Chambers Ireland CSR Awards. Having entered these awards each year it’s a great privilege for the team at Microsoft to be recognised in this way.”
The eighth annual Awards were partnered by Business in the Community Ireland, run in association with the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government and kindly sponsored by arvato Finance.
