Irish mobile network Meteor has chosen Oracle to provide and implement a new financial management software system.
Meteor said its recent growth highlighted the need to create a scalable IT infrastructure capable of aligning with the company’s growth plans and strategic goals, as well as streamlining financial processes and increasing operational efficiencies.
Oracle’s software addresses Meteor’s requirements in the areas of privacy, regulatory compliance and data consolidation, the mobile network said.
Meteor also needed to provide full budget ownership and accountability to individual department managers. With the new system, Meteor will be in a position to view accurate, up to the minute financial data at any time allowing for efficient, timely and precise reporting to senior management, which in turn will enable better, faster decision making, it said.
The software will also assist the company to achieve economies of scale that will help keep prices low while at the same time enabling Meteor to offer innovative services and the highest standards of customer care, it added.
“The introduction of the new system will ensure that the time spent on financial administration in the coming years is reduced substantially,” Meteor added.
