Marc O’Dwyer appointed chair of ISME

Big Red Cloud CEO Marc O’Dwyer has taken over as chair of ISME after spending two years as its vice-chair.

The ISME is the only independent business association for Irish SMEs.

O’Dwyer purchased the majority share in Big Red Book in 2000, having turned it around to be cash positive he then went on to set up and run the most successful SAP channel partner business in EMEA which he sold in 2008.

He launched Big Red Cloud in June 2012, the online version of Big Red Book. The company has in excess of 75,000 customers and converts 55% of trials into sales, with the number of customers growing rapidly.

Speaking as he took over from outgoing chair Margaret O’Rourke Doherty, O’Dwyer said: “I am looking forward to continuing the great work my predecessors have achieved to date, ensuring that the voice of SME’s gets not only listened to but acted upon. SME’s are the backbone of our economy and need to be supported by government to ensure Ireland continues to be the powerhouse it is on the world stage.”
