Navteq, the digital map specialist, has signed an agreement to supply map data and content to Samsung Electronics, one of the world’s leading mobile manufacturers.
The deal means Samsung will have access to all 76 countries in the Navteq map database and gives it the rights to use Navteq content, including Visual Content, Speed Limits, Extended Lanes and Navteq Discover Cities – a portfolio designed to enhance navigation device functionality for motorists.
- Visual Content improves orientation through a 3D display of prominent landmarks and 3D city models
- Speed Limits facilitates faster arrival times and details of speed limits
- Extended Lanes expands the capability to guide drivers into the correct lane at complex junctions
• Navteq Discover Cities enables orientation and navigation on foot and via public transport systems
