HP Enterprise Services is expanding its consumer travel enterprise platform so that client airlines, hospitality, rail, car rental and cruise firms can better focus services on customer needs.

The firm’s existing consumer travel product offerings aim to help clients hike revenues, boost customer service and respond quicker to market changes and opportunities. These product offerings are built on a slick service-oriented architecture (SOA) in place of creaking mainframe-based legacy systems.

As part of its strategy, HP Enterprise Services has licensed the Pegasus Solutions RezView NG distribution platform to accelerate its investment in next-generation consumer travel solutions.

Pegasus is renowned for its reliable interfaces with a wide variety of property systems in the hospitality sector and for its ability to be rapidly implemented. Once integrated into HP consumer travel solutions via HP’s Transportation SOA, it will enable faster deployment of the HP solutions across a multitude of travel segments, says HP.

Also in HP’s sights are plans to launch a sophisticated next-gen solution for the hospitality industry based on the Pegasus platform. HP says it will offer flexible, modular solutions tailored to hospitality clients’ needs.
