Hosting deal cures business headache

Persuasion, a business development consultancy, has switched its entire IT setup to a Hosted Microsoft Exchange solution from IT Force.

The solution, based on the software as a service model, was IT Force’s most in-demand service offering during the first two months of the year.

Aine Maguire, principal at Persuasion, was attracted to the significant cost benefits of the solution. For a monthly fee of €75 her firm gets a complete IT infrastructure and applications, including Microsoft Exchange. The other main motivator was agility, as the solution lets Maguire access her office from anywhere.

Maguire says her firm’s complex suite of applications and hardware had become difficult to manage, costly to maintain and somewhat unreliable.” She said unexpected IT problems kept diverting her focus from clients. “I needed a streamlined and efficient service with guaranteed reliability, enabling me to provide a similarly high standard of service to my own clients.”

IT Force advised her firm to replace its cumbersome server and instead rely only on a laptop for mobility, with a docking station in its offices. All files and e-mails are securely backed up and stored electronically off site, enabling a watertight disaster recovery plan.

Maguire notes. “My IT requirements, which used to cause me huge headaches, are now simply on tap – as are upgrades, license compliance, and security worries. In addition, my spend on IT is agreed upfront and is considerably less than previously.”

IT Force’s director of managed services, Joe Molloy, notes: “The solution is very powerful for anyone needing flexibility, consistency and continuity. It also provides a low cost, high service option.”

Molloy notes that the service includes anti-virus and anti-spam features, automatic software patching and data backup.

Maguire’s verdict: “It’s a no brainer for me.”
