Hebe Adventures emerged victorious from 10 groups of student entrepreneurs with their “airbnb of student travel” start-up at Trinity College Dublin’s LaunchBox entrepreneuship competition.

Headed by Robert Davitt and Rohan Perera, Hebe Adventures’ vision is to link young students with host families and remove the barrier to travel for young learners.

Cardiac health service Neurosonic and Verify-a-Vendor were runners-up.

LaunchBox, sponsored by Trinity and managed by Tangent, is an annual student entrepreneurship contest. The programme provided students with mentorship, funding, access to alumni and investors, and a collaborative environment to launch new ventures.

Since 2013, the €1 million provided as grants to the students participating in the programme has led to over €100 million in follow-on investment and funding.

The winning teams received cash prizes of €3,000 for the winner plus six months coworking space at Dogpatch Labs, €1,500 for the runner up, €500 for 3rd and €300 for the public vote winner.
