Irish technology company, Havok, has extended its current licensing agreement with international defence contractor Thales. Under the terms of the deal, Thales will use Havok’s innovative animation tools to bring realistic graphics to their broad range of industrial simulation products.

Global technology company Thales develop industrial simulation models for clients in the aerospace, space, defence, security and transportation markets. The company has operations in 50 countries worldwide.

Havok’s Animation software features in the recently launched Thales Sagittarius series of small arms trainers, bringing improved levels of realism to the defence training models. Havok technology improves fidelity, ensuring characters and environmental elements such as aircraft, tanks and infrastructure move accurately as users navigate the simulation models.

In addition to Havok’s growing presence in the industrial simulation space, the company’s physics software is featured in over 200 triple A games available on store shelves today. With well over 90 games currently in development for release this year, use of Havok’s ubiquitous software is up 100% for the same period last year. Best-selling titles featuring Havok physics include Halo 3, Assassin’s Creed, Guitar Hero III, BioShock, World in Conflict, Half Life 2: The Orange Box and Heavenly Sword.
