Five shortlisted companies to vie for JumpStart grand prize

Personal device encryption provider Invizibox, physiotherapy booking website PhysioLinked and football match organisation software Kickabout are among the five shortlisted entries at this year’s JumpStart start-up competition.

Now in its seventh year, JumpStart is organised by the Learning and Innovation Centre (LINC) at the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown (ITB).

The winning business start with €10,000 cash plus an office space at the LINC for one year.

The other shortlisted entries are on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning service Sproose and gin distiller Chinnery Spitits.

ON top of a cash prize of €10,000, the winning company will have access to office space at the LINC and mentoring supports. They will also get access to a structured approach to the development of their business through the Create, Learn, Grow programme; industry specific seminars; as well as access to the academic expertise of students and staff.

LINC manager Assumpta Harvey said: “Spanning across all sectors of business start-up, these five shortlisted emerging businesses will provide for a very exciting final on 6 December, where the winner will be awarded with €10,000 in cash and an office at the LINC for one year. It’s interesting to see how many of the finalists have come through Enterprise Irelands New Frontiers Programme, which really has become the hotbed for so much emerging entrepreneurial talent in Ireland”

The JumpStart 2016 shortlist will be judged on 6 December when the shortlisted entrants will pitch to a panel of successful entrepreneurs and industry experts.
