Northern Ireland’s largest independent hotel chain, the Hastings group, has set up a system to protect data held on 250,000 guests and 1,300 employees across the group.
Implementation and installation of a business continuity and recovery management system was completed by EOS Systems in partnership with enterprise IT management software firm CA. EOS is a multi-platform IT technology provider based in Belfast.
EOS implemented CA’s XOSoft solution across the hotel group’s IT and server infrastructure to ensure all critical business and customer data is replicated and backed-up continuously to an offsite location. The system also monitors the availability of all the group’s IT applications to detect potential issues and minimise downtime.
Handling over 1,000 customer bookings and inquiries daily, the system provides a group-wide view of room availability.
Managing director Howard Hastings noted: “This solution simplifies management of our entire infrastructure and minimises the risk of downtime.”
CA partner manager Fergal Hennigan said the business continuity solution would help the hotels build on earlier success.
EOS Systems technical director Peter Brown said: “CA takes a holistic view of IT management, and together we are providing Hastings hotels with a scalable platform for sustained competitive growth.”
