Rumours are rife that Dell and Intel is going to bring out a tablet PC to market by next year.
It will be a subscription e-reader to rival Amazon’s Kindle, according to Wired.com, whose source is described as a “well-connected industry executive.”
It also reports that the business model will be similar to that of a mobile phone, whereby the user could get the device for free if they subscribed to certain media content.
It is expected to launch in the next six months.
Neither Dell nor Intel gave comment on the rumour.
Dell is not the only company with tablet rumours surrounding it, as murmurs about an Apple tablet being launched before Christmas continuing to grow.
There are also reports of an imminent smartphone launch from Dell too, with a rumoured launch in China expected within days.
