The IP600 comes with Right To Use (RTU) licences and software for up to 25 endpoints, all served by the IP600, a rack mounted IP telephony server.
Included in the kit is the P330 Stackable Switching System which delivers high performance and multilayer functionality – layer 2 switching and optional layer 3 routing. Also the package comes with 12 IP telephones – eight 12-button sets and four 24-button sets – which offer full duplex speakerphone with echo cancellation; an integrated Ethernet PC-to-telephone connection, plus easy upgrades via downloadable firmware. The phones are Microsoft NetMeeting and hearing aid compatible.
The Convergence Kit also includes a licence for Avaya SMON (Switch MONitoring), a tool that allows system administrators to view and analyse traffic on their entire network.
Avaya has also announced two new products to help businesses’ with converged voice/data/video networks. The Cajun P882 MultiService Backbone switch enables 128 Gigabit Ethernet and 768 10/100Mbit/s ports on a single switch, while CajunRules policy management software helps enterprises gain control of their network traffic by assigning priorities to the traffic.
