Technology group Computerlinks has signed a deal to distribute Mobotix high resolution IP-based cameras in Ireland and the UK. IT security resellers will now have access to a complete range of IP surveillance, access control and intelligent building solutions from Computerlinks’ IP Physical Security Division, enabling them to exploit the growing convergence security market.
The Mobotix range of high-resolution cameras will be supplied with analytical software already installed along with their own digital media (SD card). For the network or IT manager considering installing an IP-based CCTV solution, requirements for network bandwidth can be lowered as all the processing takes place in the camera. The high level of detail achieved with the megapixel wide-angle images reduces the number of cameras needed, cutting the system’s operating costs.
John Turner, head of Computerlinks’ physical security division commented: “Because Mobotix cameras are self-contained units, effectively computers with lenses and powered by the network, they are straightforward to install and manage. IT resellers considering entering this new market can do so with confidence as they will have full logistical and technical support from Computerlinks as their existing IT security and networking distributor.”
