IT distributor Clarity has signed an agreement to become the distributor for O2’s data products in Ireland.
As its nationwide distributor, Clarity will also establish an indirect data sales channel for O2 data products. Clarity estimates that the data reseller market in Ireland is worth over €500 million.
Clarity, which forms part of the Horizon Group, will distribute all of O2’s data products such as BlackBerry, data cards and Xdas. It will supply existing O2 channels such as O2 retail and independent dealers, as well as Clarity’s key resellers.
Gerry McQuaid, Commercial Director, O2, described the deal as a “big step” for O2. “This mobile data channel allows customers to work with IT service providers who already understand their business on how best to address their mobility needs.
“It also enables O2 to increase the number of customers using its mobile data solutions and to broaden the portfolio of mobile applications on offer from O2 and its partners.”
