Autodesk has signed an agreement with long term partner ViaNova IT to distribute its Novapoint software and associated modules for road and highway design to the UK and Ireland. The Windows-based design and management products are designed to help construction firms to meet government road building targets.
Novapoint high-end solutions combine outstanding visualisation capability with easy-to-use Windows-based tools to enable government authorities and contractors create manage and share secure road design data with team members and other organisations involved throughout the lifetime of a project.
The software is built on Autodesk Map 3D 2005, a powerful 2D and 3D precision mapping and GIS analysis tools to create, maintain and produce maps, to integrate data from all sources and formats, analyse this data and produce thematic maps. The software
allows users to collect and incorporate highly precise design data such as terrain model information and import and export the resulting design without losing accuracy or precision.
