Xerox does digital copy/print

1 April 2005

Two new digital production copier/printers from Xerox, the DocuTech 100 and DocuTech 120, are both designed for print jobs such as reports, booklets and day-to-day copying and duplicating.

The DocuTech 100 produces as many as 100page/min in copy or print mode, and the DocuTech 120 runs at 120page/min.

Both copier/printers are based on a new innovative modular architecture and they use 40 per cent fewer moving parts than traditional digital production printers. The DocuTechs are the first black and white printer products to use iGen3 SmartPress Imaging technology, which gives a crisp monochrome image quality. In addition, the products come with SmartPress Paper Handling and SmartPress Sentry. SmartPress Paper Handling uses three independent air systems to move paper reliably, without causing abrasions; SmartPress Sentry continuously monitors and adjusts image quality to improve performance and reliability.

The DocuTechs can simultaneously scan both the front and back of a document and the dual scan heads provide up to 120 impressions per minute at 600 x 600 dot/in resolution. The two printers also offer versatility in paper selection, feeding and finishing. Up to eight programmable trays can handle as many as 11,600 sheets ranging to 309 mm x 470 mm, with weights from 56gsm bond to 216gsm cover.
