Heavy weather conditions need not put a damper on wireless network connections: 3Com’s Wireless LAN Outdoor Bridge is designed with a weatherproof enclosure that can withstand exposed outdoor environments.
The 3Com offering combines antennas, antenna cables, Ethernet cable, Power over Ethernet Module and wireless bridge in a unique weatherproof enclosure that protects the system from the elements.
The bridge operates at distances up to 16km at 11Mbit/s and it can quickly provide connections between temporary locations. Organisations can set up the wireless bridge in point-to-point and point-to-multipoint configurations covering distances from 300 to 16,000m.
To keep wireless information secure, the Wireless LAN Outdoor Bridge supports both 40bit and 128bit Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) and comes equipped with 3Com’s Dynamic Security Link when used with other 3Com wireless products. The wireless outdoor bridge is also transparent to Virtual Private Network protocols.
