Total subscriptions grow to 1,111,200 at year-end

UPC Ireland has reported further customer gains for the fourth quarter of 2014. The ISP reported a total of 1,111,200 subscriptions for the year across phone, broadband and TV services, up 51,500 over the same period of 2013.

Broadband subscriptions totalled 363,400, up from 338,300 for the same period in 2013. There was also an increase in phone subscriptions to 344,300 phone customers from 293,500.

Digital TV subscriptions, however, continued their slide to 333,200 from 383,300 – reflecting the continued trend of ‘chord cutting’ as consumer prefer to watch material online through on-demand services like Netflix and UPC’s own Horizon.
