Panasonic SC-BTT465

Revealed at CES 2014 Panasonic’s SC-BTT465 combines a 3D Blu-ray player with a 5.1 surround sound set-up.
The BTT465 comes with two ‘tall-boy’ front speakers, three satellite speakers for surround sound and a bass-reflex type subwoofer.
The new system supports YouTube, Netflix and CinemaNow playback and a wireless adapter can establish a wireless connection to a home network.
Smartphones can be paired to the system via NFC or Bluetooth to act as a remote control.
If anyone uses watches a 3D Blu-ray on it we’d be surprised but as a general package it’s still impressive.

Nod

Nod Labs’ Nod is a sensor-packed, Bluetooth-connected ring that is basically an input device like a mouse, keyboard, or trackpad.
Slip it on your index finger. Wave your hand in the air. Swipe your thumb over its touch-control surface.
The ring’s chunky business end responds to capacitive touch. Battery life is rated for 24 hours. There are 12 different band sizes and is waterproof, so you can wear it while washing the dishes or going for a swim.
Nod hooks into the standard touch interface APIs built into all mobile devices. So if you connect the ring to your iPhone or Android handset, you can use hand and finger gestures to control your phone’s music player. Nod also integrates with a number of smart TVs, including recent LG models.
There’s also connectivity for GoPro cameras, a use case that makes Nod a bit more interesting than your average point-and-clicker.

Samsung Galaxy K Zoom

Samsung’s new Galaxy K zoom sports a more powerful 20.7MP camera with 10x optical zoom and comes with an alarm to help users take timed selfies.
Outside of its camera functions, the Galaxy K has a similar look to the Galaxy S5, and has a textured back. The Galaxy K, however, has a smaller 4.8″, 1280×720 display.
Inside is Samsung’s ‘hexacore’ chip that uses both a 1.3GHz quad-core and 1.7GHz dual-core processors. The phone has 2Gb of RAM, and only 8Gb of memory, but with a microSD.
As a hybrid device, the phone still retains much of the thickness of last year’s Galaxy S4 Zoom, bulging at 20.2mm. But the phone weighs 8g less at 200g.
The Galaxy K also comes with a front-facing 2MP camera and 1920×1080 pixel image capture at 60p.
