Top testing in Irish college

Whitehall House Senior College has become the top testing centre for Microsoft Office User Specialist certification in Europe in December 2001. 

Now a Microsoft IQ Centre, the college offers the MOUS Program to both day and evening students. Over 2,000 testing centres offer MOUS certification throughout Europe.

The MOUS courses at Whitehall House consistently attract a large number of students. 

‘The majority of our students pass their MOUS examinations at a first sitting. Two students this year qualified with a 100 percent mark,’ says the principal, Ms Anne Browne.

Three teachers in the college have now passed all their MOUS examinations to become MOUS Masters. 

Whitehall House was the first CDVEC college to become part of the International Network of approved Virtual University Enterprise (VUE) electronic testing centres.

The thriving School of Information Technology offers courses from basic IT office-based applications to specialist courses in programming, desktop publishing, and Webpage design.

Ms Browne would like to see greater co-operation between the business world and education. ‘Our role here is to equip our students with the skills that will make them valuable employees. Newly designed courses must be relevant to the needs of employers and ensure that the students receive a quality education and training that can be applied in a number of business environments.’
