Google has released its standalone Gemini app on iOS, giving iPhone users access to Gemini Live. Gemini, Google’s AI assistant, was already available on various devices, but now there is a dedicated app in the App Store that simplifies the use of Gemini on iPhones.

The Gemini app was first spotted in some regions’ App Stores a few days ago, according to Mashable. While the app may not be available everywhere at once, iPhone users can check their App Store to see if the app is there.

This dedicated app offers advantages over using Gemini through the existing Google app on iOS. The new app focuses only on the AI assistant, so other Google functions are not distracted. This means users can contact the assistant directly for questions and tasks.

In addition, the app gives access to Gemini Live, which allows for more natural conversations with the AI Assistant compared to the standard Google app. This feature is now accessible to iPhone users for the first time.

The Gemini app itself is free to download, but offers in-app purchases for an upgraded Gemini Advanced subscription. This subscription offers access to a more advanced Gemini model, additional features, cloud storage and integration of Gemini into various Google apps.
