Six companies shortlisted for ISA software company of the year prize

The Irish Software Association has released the shortlist of six companies that will be vying for the title of Software Company of the Year at the ISA Awards ot be held in Dublin on 15 November.

The six companies are TerraNua; Swrve; Clavis; S3 Group; AMT-SYBEX; and CarTrawler have been shortlisted for Company of the Year 2013. Between them, the six companies employ 800 people in Ireland.

Following publication of shortlisted entries, all companies will present to an independent panel of judges who represent CEOs and founders of successful Irish software and digital technology companies.

Joe Hogan from Opennet, winner of last year’s grand prix and one of this year’s judges said: “2013 saw a further increase in the number of entrants into the ISA Software Industry Awards, all of exceptional merit. Reducing the nominees to this final shortlist has been a difficult task for the judges.

“This demonstrates how Ireland’s tech sector is continuing to flourish at a world-class level with Irish companies creating and delivering innovative products and services for global markets. We are the second biggest exporter of computer and IT services in the world. The Awards seek to recognise this immense, industry-wide talent and success which exists among Irish software and digital technology companies.”

Third level institutions in Dublin, Cork and Waterford were also nominated for Outstanding Academic Achievement of the Year.

Almost 70 tech companies from across Ireland entered this year’s awards and winners will be announced at the annual awards event on 15 November in Dublin. Enterprise Ireland CEO designate Julie Sinnamon has been announced as keynote speaker.

The categories for this year’s ISA Software Industry Awards are Company of the Year; Digital Technology Services Product of the Year; Technology Innovation of the Year; Emerging Company of the Year; Outstanding Achievement in International Growth; Multinational Corporation Initiative of the Year; Excellence in Talent Development; and Outstanding Academic Achievement of the Year.
