Just launched, the SafetyMate is a handheld First Aid device that delivers step-by-step audio instructions in both Irish and English. It gives up-to-date first aid and CPR information for over 30 types of emergencies and is intended for use schools, sports clubs, offices, industrial settings and homes.
The idea for introducing SafetyMate to Ireland came about when Marion Morrissey of Safe Aid Training, a Limerick-based health and safety training company, who experienced the near-death of her infant daughter and realised how ill-equipped so many people are when it comes to dealing with medical emergencies.
“As a trained nurse, I knew what to do in my child’s situation, but if people don’t know how to respond to medical emergencies, the situation can become fatal in a matter of minutes” said Marion. “SafetyMate guides you through the situation by telling you exactly what to do and just as importantly, what not to do.”
