Opportunities for the channel at TechTrade Live

TechTrade Live 2016, the channel partner event, was held on 19 October at the Leopardstown Pavilion, Dublin.
Newly focused for 2016 on the theme of opportunities, the event proved a vital check-in on the channel partnerships that will drive business forward. More than 40 leading vendors and distributors were present, including headline partners Dell, Trend Micro and Sungard Availability Services.
Examples abounded of partnership opportunities to improve business activity across a range of areas including cloud, security and data. Sungard Availability Services hosted a lunch for 50 guests to mark the launch of its channel partner programme. Kevin O’Connor, head of channel and Carmel Owens, general manager, outlined how the company’s programme enables partners to offer cloud, cloud recovery, managed application solutions, plus a host of hybrid IT offerings to their customers, whilst building a significant recurring revenue stream.
In a series of interviews conducted on the day for TechCentral.ie, a selection of Ireland’s VARs, system integrators and managed service providers shared their thoughts on the key characteristics of the next generation distributor, as well as key opportunities for the channel over the next 12-18 months.
More than 250 visitors attended the unique channel-only event, recognising the importance to their business of meeting some of the most influential vendors and distributors in the industry.
