New notebooks from Sony

Weighing just 2 Kg, the VAIO PCG-V505AP notebook is powered by a 2.0 GHz Intel Pentium 4M processor and comes with a 40 Gbyte hard drive, 256 Mbyte SDRAM, a 12.1 XGA display and a combined CD/DVD/CD-RW drive. The notebook comes with a range of connectivity options including a high-speed i-Link (IEEE1394) interface for real-time audio and video transfers, a Memory Stick slot for easy data storage and exchange, and a 10BaseT/100Base-TX Ethernet port and a built-in Wireless LAN 802.11b facility for wired and cable-free networking respectively. The PCG-V505AP also comes with an internal V.90K56 flex modem, an ATI Mobility Radeon graphics card, integrated stereo speakers and Windows XP Professional.

Also included in the new series are the VAIO PCG-Z1SP and the VAIO PCG-Z1MP, two large-screen portables that are powered by Intel’s new Centrino processor. Both notebooks weight just over 2Kg, and come with an Ethernet port, Memory Stick slot, an i-LINK interface, wireless connectivity and Bluetooth. In addition, the PCG-Z1SP comes with a 6O Gbyte hard drive and 512 Mbyte DDR SDRAM, while the Z1MP comes with a 40 Gbyte hard drive and 256 Mbyte RAM.
