Dell has recently added a number of new notebook computers to its Latitude range. The new Latitude D-Family, which includes the D600 and D800, offer combinations of features and designs that include a Tri-metal chassis and integrated wireless networking technology.

The Latitude D600 is powered by an Intel Pentium M processor running at 1.3GHz, 1.4 GHz, or 1.6GHZ. It comes with a 14.1 inch display, ATI Mobility RADEON 9000 Video Graphics with 32 Mbytes of DDR dedicated memory, and a range of optical drives options including a 24X CD-ROM, 8X DVD, 24X CD-RW, or a 24X CD-RW/DVD combination drive. The D600 also includes an integrated 10/100/1000Ethernet, a 56k V.92 modem, integrated Smart Card Reader, two USB 2.0 ports and hard drives ranging from 20 to 40 Gbytes. Dell is offering a choice of either a Dell TrueMobile 1300 wireless 802.11b/g Wi-Fi card or an Intel Pro wireless 2100 802.11b miniPCI card.

The Latitude D800 meanwhile is also powered by an Intel Pentium M processor up to 1.6GHz. Additionally, the notebook computer comes with a NVIDIA GeForce4 4200 Go Video graphics card with 32 Mbytes or 64 Mbytes of DDR dedicated memory, and an integrated 10/100/1000 Ethernet. The D800 offers up to 2Gbytes DDE system memory, hard drives up to 60Gbytes, a 15.4 in display, either a Dell TrueMobile 1300 wireless 802.11b/g Wi-Fi card or an Intel Pro wireless 2100 802.11b miniPCI card and multiple drive options including a 24X CD-ROM, 8XDVD and a 24X CD-RW/DVD combination drive.
