MSPs’ relationships with clients a matter of trust – survey
A survey by TechCentral.ie in association with DNA IT Solutions is polling IT professionals for their experience of working with managed service providers.
Most Irish businesses pay an MSP to keep their systems secure, their data protected, and their operations running, yet few have ever had that work independently checked.
“Whether you’re choosing a new broadband provider at home or a managed service provider at work there is a tendency to do due diligence, sign off and assume you’ll get what you pay for not just at the time you sign but when technological and regulatory changes loom,” said Niall Kitson, editor of TechCentral.ie. “This survey will shed light on how closely MSPs are being monitored, standards are set, and maintained.”
“There is no licence required to become a managed service provider, yet MSPs are entrusted with protecting organisations from cyber threats, safeguarding sensitive data, and ensuring business continuity,” said Sean Lucas, chief technical officer, DNA IT Solutions.
“If your provider tells you your organisation is secure, ask yourself one question: what evidence are they basing that on?
“The best MSPs don’t ask customers to trust them, they provide continuous evidence that security controls are working, compliance requirements are being met, and risks are being actively managed. Confidence should be earned through transparency, not assumed.”
