Real World Retail has begun a partnership with McLernon Computers to integrate their retail business intelligence solution with McLernons’ MPS and MPS Retail electronic point of service (EPoS) software.

McLernon Computers’ MPS suite includes tools for the dispensing of prescriptions, re-ordering and submission of claims, as well as managing the front-of-shop. It also includes prescription scanning, a queuing module for prioritising work flow and a number of interfaces with robotic dispensing solutions.

Real World Retail – Pharmacy (RWR-P) integrates with McLernon Computers Enterprise (Head Office) system to add management dashboards and reports that offer an overview of sales figures for prescription and over-the-counter medications, front-of-shop, and other sales in one place. This gives pharmacy owners the ability compare the past week’s sales against data for the same period in the previous year; analyse stockholding by product and by store; generate replenishment reports for bulk ordering; and identify best-selling and ‘trending’ products – all managed from the cloud.

The system has so far been installed in three of McLernon Computers’ group customers, and in one case has reduced a client’s inventory value by €300,000 within five months of the system going live.

Conall Lavery, director, Real World Retail, said: "McLernon Computers is the leading vendor of pharmacy dispensing software in the 32 counties and we are delighted and privileged to be working with them. When used with RWR-P their EPoS system is now second to none in terms of reporting, and we are already rolling out a loyalty system for another one of their customers with more in the pipeline."

McLernon Computers’ clients include the chains Boots, Mulligan Pharmacy Group, Gordons Chemists and Medicare.
