Magnet Networks has announced it will carry the BBC’s first 3D broadcast: the Wimbledon finals.

BBC One HD has been added to Magnet’s fibre-based TV service, meaning customers will be able to watch the men’s and women’s Wimbledon finals in 3D on 2-3 July.

Viewers will require a 3D TV and glasses to get the full effect.

For those not near a TV set and wishing to watch the live action for free on www.magnetwebtv.ie across compatible PC, laptop, smartphone and tablet devices.

The finals will take place over the first weekend in July, and will mark the 125th anniversary of the tournament.
