Life Science Recruitment is a specialist scientific and healthcare recruitment company based in Dublin with a strong focus on the integration of Web 2.0 and Internet technologies into mainstream recruitment practices.
As part of their ongoing promotion of research, development and education in Ireland, they have launched academicjobs.ie – a free online recruitment resource for universities and academic institutions.
According to its founders, AcademicJobs.ie will allow universities and research institutions to post non-commercial academic jobs and research studentships for free, addressing the current gap in the Irish market for such a free resource. Advertisers can create an institutional profile and post unlimited jobs, as well as manage applications and feedback through an associated content management system.
The main target audience for the site is graduates searching for MSc or PhD studentships from multiple disciplines, as well as post-doctoral fellowships, lectureships and other academic appointments.
Eamonn O’Raghallaigh from Life Science Recruitment said: “We are offering this service pro bono as part of our policy of fostering research and development in Ireland and giving jobseekers usable and accessible online recruitment resources.”
The company’s market research into online recruitment trends in Ireland began in late 2007 and has research has culminated in the development of a “strategic online presence”, comprising over 20 industry-specific websites and a Web 2.0 footprint made up of a number of blogs, combined with a presence on Facebook, Twitter and other social media resources.
The company is now in final stage development of a similar UK portfolio with a view to the setting up of a UK office in the summer of 2011.
