Eircom Business has been selected by Kildare County Council to provide cloud and network services to support its website, Kildare.ie. The three-year deal is part of an investment by Kildare County Council to upgrade its technology infrastructure.
Kildare.ie provides provides information on a wide range of topics from arts, business, education and tourism to the latest news on events happening in the country.
Eircom’s cloud team designed and built a Web hosting infrastructure for Kildare County Council.
Eircom Business partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) last year to provide cloud services to its customers based on a flexible, secure, pay-per-use IT infrastructure model. This partnership builds on eircom’s established offerings of voice, data, hosting and managed services and allows customers to more effectively optimise their use of server technology, delivering greater technical and financial control.
Kevin Kelly, CEO of Kildare Community Network, said: “We wanted to upgrade the Web-hosting platform for Kildare.ie to take advantage of the latest advances in technology. We were looking for a trusted provider who could deliver a highly available managed hosting service. After evaluating a number of options, Kildare County Council chose eircom Business to deliver this contract for the next three years.”
