Swords-based telematics company, Transpoco is to create 20 jobs in 2016, bringing its headcount to 40. The move – which will double the company’s workforce – follows the launch of a new service designed to help Europe’s car, van and truck fleets reduce fuel, maintenance and insurance costs. The company already doubled its employment from 10 to 20 in 2015 on the back of the new service.
The expansion follows a two-year research and development programme supported by Enterprise Ireland. The resulting product, SynX, is a cloud-based service which integrates Transpoco GPS software with data from fuel cards to provide cost saving business intelligence.
“Fleet managers are not fully exploiting GPS tracking technology, because they are too busy,” said Andrew Fleury, CEO, Transpoco (pictured). “While they use basic features of GPS, they never really get to the stage of accessing real business intelligence. They don’t have time to analyse data from different suppliers, such as fuel, vehicle maintenance etc. The SynX product automates this analysis and pinpoints key actions that need to be taken.”
Transpoco is a member of FTA Ireland (Freight and Transport Association). Its customers include local public institutions, transport companies and businesses that rely on driving for different reasons such as couriers, cleaning and construction companies.
