Get snap-happy with Siemens

1 April 2005

Mobile phone users can get their hands on the latest camera phone with the launch of the Siemens S55. The handset supports Multi Media Messaging and has a detachable camera with an integrated flash. The S55 also has Bluetooth and GPRS technology.

The integrated flash on the QuickPic Camera IQP-500 allows you to take pictures even in poor lighting situations.

The tri-band phone has a colour display and uses Java technology, allowing users to customise the phone’s applications and games.  Some games are pre-loaded, such as Jet Ski, as are business and travel guides. Other software can be downloaded from www.my-siemens.com/city, along with additional melodies and music messages. The S55 has polyphonic ring tones, so when the phone rings it sounds more like real music.

With a standby time of up to 300 hours and up to 360 minutes of talk time, the S55 offers a competitive performance with other models currently on the market.

Using the Bluetooth technology and extended organiser software, users can automatically synchronise their contacts and schedules with Bluetooth enabled PCs and PDAs, making it easy to keep track of work and social engagements.

A Bluetooth headset is also available, which features keys for voice dialing, answering and ending calls, and adjusting the volume at a range of up to 10 metres.
