Cape Clear Software has released a free graphical WSDL Editor for programmers interested in working with Web Services.

The WSDL Editor is a complete environment for rapid Web Services Definition Language (WSDL) development. It is suitable for novice programmers but also includes sophisticated features for more experienced Web Services developers.

The WSDL Editor includes wizards that eliminate the complexity of WSDL, as well as WSDL validation, which simplifies testing. Developers can also use the software to create Web Services based on or compatible with XML Schema such as SWIFT, ACORD, BAPI, and RosettaNet.

Other features include an intuitive graphical interface for viewing and editing WSDL files; the Web Services creation wizard automates the creation of service definitions, port types, binding, template operations, and messages.

The editor also comes with fully automated wizards for creating and editing XML schema, schema array, complex types, simple types, and enumerations. It can handle WSDL validation—where WSDL is tested against WSDL Schema—as well as WSDL profiling, so WSDL can be validated against customised profiles for specific requirements such as standards compatibility.

Cape Clear’s WSDL Editor is available at no cost for download from www.capeclear.com/wsdleditor/.
