The Digital Hub’s Liberties learning Initiative has been given a boost with further funding from Diageo. The new investment of €1.3million brings Diageo’s total investment in the programme to €2.6 million.

The programme supports almost 2,000 people in the local area. Established in 2002, the Diageo Liberties Learning Initiative
aims to give the community the opportunity to acquire the skills needed to live and work in the digital age.

Recent initiatives include providing broadband Internet access to local schools, teaching school children how to make their own music videos and educating teachers on how to use technology to interest children in topics such as science, maths and engineering.
