Dell’s latest thin notebook

Dell’s new Inspiron 4150 is a high-performance, thin and light notebook computer for small businesses and consumers.

Available in a build-to-order configuration, the 4150 can be supplied with one of three display resolutions, two hard disk options-30 or 40Gbyte-and four possible optical drives.

The machine runs on an Intel Mobile Pentium 4-M processor. Buyers can select speeds of 1.6, 1.7, 1.9 or 2.0GHz, combined with Intel’s 845MP chipset. The Inspiron comes with up to 1Gbyte PC2100 DDR system memory.

The 14.1in display is available at XGA (1024 x 768) SXGA+ (1400 x 1050) and UXGA (1600 x 1200) resolution. A 16 or 32 Byte ATI Mobility RADEON 7500 video graphics card can also be supplied with the system.

The notebook also has Ion Silver accents and has five new optional QuickSnap colour inserts: Black Leather, Iridescent Jade, Burlwood, Birch Blue and Robin’s Egg Red.

The notebook is bundled with Microsoft Windows XP Home with Microsoft Works 6.0. Other features include a 56K V.92 modem, integrated 10/100 Ethernet and an optional internal 802.11b wireless connection.

The laptop is also fitted with one USB port, a S-Video out port and two PC Card slots. It is powered by a 66Watt/Hour ‘Smart’ Lithium Ion battery.
