The Biotrin Group, a developer and manufacturer of diagnostic platform technology, has officially opened a research and development facility in Dublin. The location is expected to create up to 40 high value jobs to add to its existing presence in the capital.

Biotrin’s Irish operation was established in 1992 to develop and manufacture diagnostic platforms for clinicians and research scientists. Biotrin is a leader in tests for Human Parovirus B19, a virus that can cause miscarriage in pregnancy.

Barry O’Leary, CEO of IDA Ireland, said: "The Biotrin Group’s new facility reinforces Ireland’s position as a global hub for the life sciences sector. IDA Ireland wishes Biotrin and its management and staff every success and offers its continuous support to the Biotrin Group as it expands its operation in Ireland."

Biotrin currently employs 100 staff in manufacturing, research and marketing in Ireland.
