Special Olympics Ireland
For: Android
The Special Olympics Ireland Games will be taking place in Limerick from 12-15 June and this official app is a combination of tour guide, programme and fundraising drive. The app includes maps showing where different events are being held, rolling news updates on how the games are progressing, and a donate button you can contribute to the cause wherever you are.
Available on Android only for now, an iOS version is due for release in the coming weeks.

iTagged
For: iOS
An augmented reality app for iOS, iTagged tries to capture a sense of not just recording an event but including your impressions of it as well. It works by letting users to tag their current location and add messages for their friends; create virtual photo albums of their latest travels; search for events around the world using live mapping; and share their tags on Facebook and Twitter.
