Bluesky helps users customise social media feeds with AI assistant
The social media platform Bluesky is working on a new AI tool designed to help users create personalised content feeds. This AI assistant, Attie, was announced during the Atmosphere conference in Vancouver.
Attie is an artificial intelligence-based app built on the open AT Protocol (atproto) and powered by Anthropic’s AI technology (the Claude model).
With Attie, users can give instructions in natural language to put together their own social media feed – for example by asking for posts on specific themes such as particular music genres, interests or niches.
Instead of relying on standard algorithms that decide what you see, Attie gives users more control and personal customisation over what appears in their feed.
At the moment, Attie is being rolled out in a closed beta phase and is not yet widely available, but those interested can sign up for access.
Bluesky sees this as a way for users to decide for themselves what content they want to see, and to further develop the idea of a decentralised and customisable social network.
