Ransomware attacks are more than a business crisis they’re a test of management – one that organisations are failing, a webinar from TechCentral.ie sponsored by Sophos will hear.

According to Sophos’ State of Ransomware report for 2025, there is often more than one cause for a ransomware attack, from security gaps organisations may not be aware of to a lack of expertise – some predictable, some not.

As important as the financial loss associated with an attack, are the human costs left behind? Do organisations understand the stress involved in making sure business as usual returns? Is anyone keeping track of staff turnover post-incident? How are managers making sure their teams feel seen and protected from a blame game?

“Security breaches, from ransomware to malware, come in all shapes and sizes but their aftermath all seem to be the same. Burnout, anxiety and even guilt are not uncommon with IT professionals and this isn’t talked about enough,” said Kitson. “I’m looking forward to exploring what’s going on at national and international level and what lessons we can take away to keep teams happier and together for longer.”
