Foxes, Elephants, miscellaneous animals eating and Ron Burgundy all made YouTube’s annual top 10 of clips viewed by the Irish public in 2013.

Top spot went to Norweigan comedy duo Ylvis with What Does the Fox Say, which to date has been viewed 265 million times worldwide. The most watched locally produced clip took second place: Cork-based Sminky Shorts’ animated skit Elephant.

Fourth place was taken by MisterEpicMann’s How Animals Eat Their Food, to date amassing almost 89 million views.

RTE had two entries in Republic of Telly’s You Know You’re Irish When and the New Orleans’ Rose live proposal. Two entries in the top 10 made reference to the national broadcaster’s massively popular Love/Hate with the simply titled Irish lad in Canada wishes his ma a happy birthday Nidge style and Anchorman’s Ron Burgundy’s take on the drama’s fourth season finale.

On the music front, mainstream pop acts dominated the chart. Miley Cyrus nabbed two spots on the music chart for the year for Wrecking Ball and We Can’t Stop.

Colaiste Lurgan whose hit Wake Me Up performed as Gaeilge was the 10th most watched video – the original hit came in third.
