Panasonic SC-HC39

On top of CD and radio The Panasonic SC-HC39 compact stereo system has NFC and Bluetooth connectivity for streaming from smart devices.

It comes with a LincsD-Amp 2nd generation, which provides a level of amp performance matching many high-end Hi-Fi stereo systems, minimising the jitter that is often generated when playing back digital music files to reproduce sounds.

A Bluetooth Re-master function brings compensates for the high-frequency sounds lost by compressing the signal during Bluetooth audio signal transmission. This allows the user to enjoy crisp, clear sound even with a wireless connection. A Nanosized Bamboo Cone Speaker and Dual Passive Radiator are used in the speakers to deliver dynamic bass with clear sound.

UBR-1

The UBR-1 is a 4′ tall, one-armed robot that could make warehouses and factories more efficient by performing tasks normally done by human workers.

It runs a version of Ubuntu Linux and the open source Robot Operating System, which allows developers to program a wide variety of functions that suit different needs. For example, if a company needs the robot to pick objects off of a shelf and also assemble parts, it would download two apps for the same robot.

The robot weighs 160lbs and can travel 2.23 miles an hour, operating up to five hours on a full battery. It connects via Wi-Fi and USB and has a fourth-generation Intel Core i5 processor. Other hardware includes a microphone, speaker and laser scanner. A PrimeSense 3D sensor in its head is used for vision and other forms of perception.

Available in the US from August.
