Tony Hanway, CEO of Telefónica Ireland has been appointed as chairman of the Telecommunications and Internet Federation (TIF).
The TIF is the IBEC representative body for leading industry and associated interest groups in the field of electronic communications and represents companies involved in fixed, mobile, wireless, fixed wireless, satellite and cable based service provisions, outsourcing and internet service provision.
"Ireland’s telecoms and internet companies have a pivotal role to play in enabling Ireland’s digital economy and creating rich online experiences for our customers," said Hanway. "I am greatly looking forward to working more closely with TIF at what is an important time in the history of our industry."
