TechSpace, a not-for-profit programme hosted by Camara Ireland, has been appointed as strategic partner by Adobe for managing and co-ordinating its Youth Voices (AYV) programme in Ireland.

Under the arrangement, TechSpace will work with youth services networks and schools to deliver this innovative programme which promotes creative learning through the use of technology.

The Adobe Foundation has provided funding for TechSpace in the shape of the recruitment of two full-time technology-in-education experts responsible for providing free software and online training for all TechSpace-supported educators, youth projects and schools.

TechSpace and Adobe have also announced the TechSpace recipient of the Adobe third level education creativity scholarship as Irish teen, Delia Aires.

The announcements were made at the inaugural TechSpace Creative Tech Festival held at the Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin. The festival showcased the stunning work produced by digital creators aged 8-18 in TechSpace centres around the country hosted by youth organisations including Foroige, CYC/Crosscare, YMCA and CDYSB-funded projects.

Philip Sharpe, chairperson, TechSpace, said: “Our collaboration with the world class Adobe Youth Voices programme has been the single most enabling platform for TechSpace as we continue to roll out a national network of digital TechSpaces within youth services and schools, converting young people from being consumers into active creators of digital content. The additional funding from Adobe allows us to build our capacity as we train educators to confidently embrace technology within their learning programmes.”
