Private, public sectors and SMEs set standards for efficiency and efficacy

The ‘project awards’ remain the most popular categories at the annual Tech Excellence Awards, this year being held at the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire on 23 May. Divided into public sector, private sector and SME, the winners represent the broad scope of the tech sector. 2023 was a vintage year for projects delivered on time, on budget and with lasting positive effects.

IT project of the year – private sector

Winner: Storm Technology with CCS

Established in 1966, CCS is a third-generation Irish family business that has held a strong presence in the professional cleaning industry for more than 50 years, employing thousands of people across nine European countries. Storm Technology successfully rolled a project out for CCS, delivering multiple benefits and a positive experience throughout.

IT project of the year – public sector

Winner: An Post

An Post undertook a large scale transformation programme during the pandemic to create a vibrant new organisation competing head to head in the world of global ecommerce logistics, banking and financial services, mobile and insurance. Now more of their trade comes from online front end channels diversifying income and providing new sources of revenue.

IT project of the year – SME

Winner: Savenet Solutions with Murphy Geospatial

Lorcan Cunningham and his team at Savenet Solutions achieved the bulk of their project milestones in under six weeks, which alleviated the storage pressures within the Murphy Geospatial organisation. Their work delivered a 50% cost saving compared with tender competitors.
