Symantec to create 60 new jobs in Dublin

Symantec has announced that it is to create 60 jobs in its European Operations Centre in Dublin. The storage and systems management firm plans to establish a new team focusing on customer authentication and verification, technical support and client services.

Applicants need to speak a minimum of two European languages as the new team will form part of Symantec’s ‘follow the sun model’. The model sees services and support being provided to customers across the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific and Japan on a 24/7 basis in over 20 languages.

Minister for jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton commented that the news was another successful milestone in Ireland’s endeavour to tap into the global ICT boom.

The Minister commented that, “I am determined to build on traditional strengths to ensure we can reap great rewards from the new global tech boom and get our country working again.”

President and CEO at Symantec, Enrique Salem attributed the investment due to Symantec’s success to date in Ireland. He thanked the Irish government and IDA for their support while stating that, ” today’s announcement is a major step forward for Symantec enabling us to better serve our customers by utilising local talents.”
