Spotify increases the price of Premium subscription

Spotify will increase the monthly price of its Premium subscription in certain regions starting in September.

The subscription price will go from €10.99 to €11.99 per month in markets such as South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Over the coming month, subscribers will be informed by e-mail about the price increase.

In the month leading up to the announcement, Spotify had already warned that profits for the past quarter would be lower than analysts had expected. This was attributed to higher salary costs and employee-related taxes.
